Country Captain Chicken

Country Captain Chicken -

Chicken cooked the Anglo-Indian style.

Ingredients:

Chicken,cut into pieces - 1 kilogram
Oil - 1 tablespoon
Onions,sliced - 3 large
Cinnamon - 2 inch stick
Cloves - 4
Green cardamoms - 2
Dry red chilies,broken - 2
Black peppercorns - 6-8
Garlic paste - 2 tablespoons
Red chilli powder - 2 teaspoons
Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
Salt - to taste

Method:

Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add onions, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, red chillies and peppercorns and sauté lightly.
Add the chicken, garlic paste and sauté on medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
Add ½ cup water and cook till the chicken is tender and the gravy is quite thick.
Serve hot.
